Yellow health card to Polish address
If you do not live in Denmark, or do not intend to live in Denmark permanently, but wish to make use of the Danish health care system, the special Yellow Health Card to a Polish address is for you. It gives you the right to use the Danish health care system on the same basis as Danish citizens, even if you are not registered in the Danish population register (yellow health card to a Danish address). You should take the card with you to a doctor, pharmacy, hospital or other therapist in the Danish health care system.

If you need to have an address in Denmark, you should apply for a simple yellow health card after registering in the population registry of your municipality.

The special health card is valid for a maximum of two years, but it may be valid for a shorter period, e.g. until the end of the year or the end of the contract. It should be renewed at the earliest one month before its expiration. You will receive a reminder by mail or e-box (if you have one).

The yellow card is also needed to apply for NEM ID or MitID(digital signature).

Blue card (EHIC)
When you order a yellow card to a Polish address, you also get a blue card called EHIC, or European Health Insurance Card. The EHIC card is a document entitling you to free use of primary care While abroad, for example, on vacation. Insurance in POLAND - Print S1
The Danish office, after accepting your application for a yellow card, automatically sends an S1 application to the Polish NFZ. As a result, you will have the right to health services in Poland, on the same terms as other citizens and Denmark will pay the bills.

What this means in practice is that you have „green” status - That is, you have active insurance under the National Health Fund.
