Are you planning a trip to Denmark for work? Great decision!<\/strong> High wages, good working conditions and a friendly atmosphere attract many Poles. But before you set out to conquer the Danish labor market, you need to prepare well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nothing spoils the first days in a new country like missing important documents. Here's list of things you should take<\/strong>, to avoid stress and problems upon arrival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seemingly everyone knows but not everyone remembers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

1. passport or identity card - your primary document<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

No trip without a valid passport or identity card<\/strong>! - so obvious...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are an EU citizen, you can enter Denmark visa-free<\/strong>, but identity document is an absolute must .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What to check before you leave?<\/strong>
\u2714 Validity of proof\/passport (It should be valid at least until the day of return to Poland),<\/em>
\u2714 Is not damaged - better to avoid problems at the border.

2. employment contract or proof of employment<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

If you already have a job in Denmark, be sure to bring a copy of the contract<\/strong>, electronic version will also suffice, for example, in the form of an email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why is this important?<\/strong>
\u2714 Is required to obtain CPR number<\/strong> (Danish identification number<\/em>),
\u2714 It will come in handy at the bank, offices and for renting an apartment,
\u2714 Facilitates verification of the legality of employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)<\/strong> \ud83c\udfe5<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Before you get full Danish health insurance, it's a good idea to have a EHIC<\/strong> - European Health Insurance Card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why is it worth having it?<\/strong>
\u2714 Gives access to basic emergency medical care,
\u2714 You may need it in the first weeks of your stay before you get Danish insurance,
\u2714 It can be made out for free in the NHF<\/strong> (All you need to do is submit an application).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u26a0\ufe0f Remember: the EHIC does not cover all costs, so consider additional private insurance for the first few weeks of your stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. marriage certificate and birth certificate of children (if you are leaving with your family)<\/strong> \ud83d\udc68\u200d\ud83d\udc69\u200d\ud83d\udc67<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

If you are moving to Denmark with your family, it's a good idea to bring your marriage certificate and your children's birth certificates<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2714 Obtain a CPR number for the family,
\u2714 Arrangements for family benefits in Denmark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u26a0\ufe0f Attention!<\/strong> Danish offices often require sworn translation of documents into English or Danish<\/strong> - it's worth doing this before you leave if you don't have these documents in a multilingual version!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. education and qualification documents<\/strong> \ud83c\udf93<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

If you have diplomas, professional certificates or other documents proving your qualifications, bring them with you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They may be needed if:<\/strong>
\u2714 You plan to work in a skilled profession (such as medicine),
\u2714 You want to apply for a better job or diploma nostrification,
\u2714 The employer will require proof of your education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polish licence<\/strong> is valid in Denmark, but if you intend to live there permanently, it is worth exchanging it for a Danish one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is worth knowing?<\/strong>
\u2714 The Polish driving license is recognized in Denmark without exchange<\/strong>,
\u2714 If you work as a commercial driver, additional documents may be required,
\u2714 When registering in Denmark, you may want to consider exchanging your driver's license for a Danish one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
