You live abroad and only work in Denmark temporarily (i.e., for less than 185 days in a 12-month period), so you can drive with foreign license plates without having to pay Danish registration tax, and thus you don't have to apply for any permit. The employment contract is your documentation in case of an inspection.
If, on the other hand, you are more than 185 days into a 12-month period (or have a contract longer than 185 days during the calendar year), you must obtain a permit from the Tax Authority of Denmark - SKAT's Automotive Department. SKAT requires a 400 kr processing fee. Until the case is processed, you can move your car without worry.
Attention: Failure to obtain a permit can result in a caution at best, and at worst confiscation of the car, pending payment of registration tax and a fine to SKAT.
