What is A kasse ?
A kasse is a type of organization that offers unemployment insurance. The insurance is voluntary. If you will be unemployed then the cash benefits paid from A kasse are much more favorable than unemployment benefits from your local JobCenter.
How much does it cost?
If you work full time (that is, more than 30 hours a week) the monthly cost of insurance starts at 479 kr per month . A kasse and union fees are deducted from your taxes.
How much and how long can you receive benefits?
- The benefit (dagpenge) can be received for 24 months,
- The monthly payment in 2022 is 19,351 kr.gross for full-time and 12,901 kr.for part-time. .
When insurance can be used
Basic principles:
- minimum one-year membership,
- have an income of at least 246,924 kr (in 2022) as a full-time insured person and 164,616 kr as a part-time insured person. The income must have been earned in the last three years and must be during the period of A cass membership,
- registering at a Danish address,
- registration at the JobCenter on the first day of unemployment, completed application to A Kasse,
However, if you have received money from a kasse /dagpenge in recent years, instead of the income requirement you must meet a certain number of hours of work to receive unemployment benefits. The requirement is 1,924 hours of work, which is equivalent to one year of full-time work.
